Got back yesterday just in time for the snowstorm.
Arrived at West Palm Beach at 2:30 and headed straight for Peanut Island. Should have checked the tide tables, as the water taxi dropped me off at the dock an hour after dead low tide. This is a state park in the middle of Lake Worth. Water taxi is $10 round trip either from the North Palm Beach marina on 13th Street, or from the Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach Shores. Even at low tide, the snorkeling was excellent. Only stayed an hour because I wanted to check with the Narcosis about diving the offshore reef. Apparently, visibility has been over 100 feet for over a week - and getting better. |
